I built this cabinet several years ago, I started with a Pi 3, then upgraded to a Pi 4 – have run RetroPie and Batocera.

I recently built a new desktop PC and going to use my old build to power this cabinet now. It’s not a modern powerhouse but should be good enough to run most stuff:

  • i7-4790K CPU
  • 32GB RAM
  • GTX 970
  • 1 TB SSD

The cabinet has:

  • 16:9 1080p monitor
  • Tankstick with trackball
  • 2 SNES-style USB controllers
  • 2 Sinden Lightguns

I’ve never been quite happy with my setup and am hoping that throwing a PC at it will make it easier to set up and customize. I’m wondering if there’s a front-end that can do MAME/Arcade, home consoles, good lightgun support, and potentially even normal PC/Steam games. Can someone recommend a download package that’ll at least get me close to supporting all this? I would prefer something Windows-based.

I’d like the games to be separated out by system, but would also like to be able to set up a couple of different categories like “Lightgun Games” and “Trackball Games”.

What are my options?

ok NOT Windows Based , but ready to go certainly with the separate sections would be the new 2tb Batocera bootable ( here)  or maybe look at HyperSpin Attraction for Windows and adding some stuff ( here) Else find a CoinOps for PC Build you like and go from there….

Thanks actually I’ve spent the past few days playing with HyperSpin Attraction and I think it’s exactly what I’m looking for, it’s very polished. I just need to sort out a few things with my Tankstick and Sinden configs. But damn that Batocera build looks absolutely loaded… tempting!
