Hey guys ?
So bought one of these beauts from Bitcade.co.uk and its AWESOME QUALITY!! And I mean awesome, we have bought some budget kits in our time, but this is a quality kit at a budget price, if you are a UKer like myself, then grab yourself a kit before they realise they are waaayyyy too cheap on price!!

SO WHATS NEXT?
So looking through some of the past images that The Arcade Punks have received and speaking to the guys, it appears we have never been shared a cocktail cab image , we have a few vertical images for various platforms, but I want to stick to using a Raspberry Pi (3b) – so anticipate using the awesome VERTIPIE as seen here :-
https://www.arcadepunks.com/ve…..-download/
Now thats all well and good, BUT, the players are sat opposite each other, so we need to tell the machine to flip when its p2 (Player 2) turn, seeing as this particular image is Mame based, and Mame are all arcade cab rips, the majority of the vertical games do have the ability to go into COCKTAIL MODE, of course for some 2 player games we will want to go into SPLIT SCREEN MODE (this is where it splits the screen down the middle and mirrors it, so each player sees half a screen facing them each).
INSTRUCTIONSÂ (In Principal)
Hit TAB to get to settings within the game
Choose DIP SWITCHES
Change CABINET to COCKTAIL
if this option is not available, then it is not supported in this game or there is another version available for cocktail.
A work around is to SPLIT the screen
Hit TAB to get to the settings
Choose VIDEO OPTIONS
Select the COCKTAIL video option
this will split the screen in 2 and flip half for the second player to see

CONTROLS
Because the controls are opposite each other, I think Im going to go with 2 separate ipac style controllers (via USB to the Pi) – why 2 instead of 1 , because I am having nothing but problems trying to configure 2 players on a single controller at the moment, and am minutes from putting my head through the control panel!!..
MOVING FORWARD….
So I have the table, I have the hardware (I need to order controllers and usb hook ups) , and I have VeriPie ready to edit (and will share with everyone when its configured manually rom, by rom…!) but what I dont have is the time, over the next few days I am moving and have a huge house to move and rather large family , so I dont anticipate getting this project on the go for a couple of weeks, but would love some input and advice… Especially if you have any suggestions outside of the ROMS included with Vertipie ….. #LETMEHEARYOURTHOUGHTS

I-pac should configure as a keyboard allowing you to set up both player 1 and 2 controls just like a keyboard , although i've never tried using one on a pi before. Hmm Pi-Pac..lol.You could try setting up any 2 controllers and then a normal keyboard before pluging in the I-pac but you would need to know the default keymap for your model of i-pac. The I-pac 2 seems most common and the keycode listing is here https://www.ultimarc.com/ipac2.html .
If you're interested I'm nearly done building the image for my Vertical cabinet . Its Attract mode and Emulation station both Vertical . Régalad & WDG âSuPrEmE BuiLd V2â as its base with the Vertical Emulation Station Theme by Dwayne Hurst and a Modified Attract mode Vertipie theme. Not setup for Cocktail table but it should give you a better starting base than the aging Vertipie.

May have figured out your control issue assuming your using a keyboard encoder of some sort like an Ipac set up player one controls with the keyboard encoder or a keyboard then for player 2 go to /opt/retropie/configs/   and edit the retroarch.cfg in the folder corresponding to every emulator your going to use. for example if your using mame 2000 or 2003 then edit   /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg    now assuming its an Ipac add the following to the config
input_player2_a = a
input_player2_b = s
input_player2_y = q
input_player2_x = w
input_player2_start = 2
input_player2_select = 6
input_player2_l = i
input_player2_r = k
input_player2_left = g
input_player2_right = d
input_player2_up = f
input_player2_down = ryou may also need to add the same thing to
opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfgÂ
if your not using an ipac check your button map to see what buttons are what and substitute as needed

Thanks dude, had to pull away from project at the moment, due to new business start up – but will come back to tinkering with the issues i was having – (cant bloody wait #sarcasm)
As for the image, would love a copy of it when its done , no doubt grab from the site ? I dont mind making the changes for screen flips and stuff and creating a 'opposite players' version ?
