Since I don't have enough things going on (new home), I decided to do an Arcade build.
I think I have settled on a Bartop Arcade Cabinet. A tabletop sounds interesting, but not sure if I want to be looking down as I play.
I have a Pi 2 that I will be using for Octoprint, and got retropie working. I will upgrade to a Pi 3 before I finish this project.
Currently, I am researching plans. I have access to a smaller CnC machine, but have no idea of what files to use on it. The machine is big enough to do one of the sides at a time. I downloaded a dxf file, but it had everything as if I was cutting the whole board at once. I looked at getting precut cabinet, but could cut 2 or 3 cabinets for the same price if I can figure out the CnC thing.
I also have to decide on what controllers to get. Easyget looks interesting, good value for the money. Do I want a trackball installed?
I will use MDF.

Finally got started on my build. I gave up on using a CnC machine. I figured the time I put into designing a file to cut the panels could be better spent, actually cutting the panels.
I am using the plans from:

My biggest fear was cutting the sides. I did not think I would be able to cut the curves.  HA! It was done within 10 minutes. I then used a trim router bit to cut the second side. That came out as an exact copy of the first side. The 2 player control panel was also cut out. This is where I hit a wall, as I purchased a 2 player 8 button set up, and I cut out a 6 button layout. I finally decided to stick with the 6 button layout, but I did not bring my monitor to make sure I can use the same widths as the plans call for.
I think I will integrate a USB port into my build, so I can plug in an SNES controller, or whatever else when I am playing something that would be better with the controller. (Zelda)
I work a lot, so progress will be slow going, but hopefully I can have this done in a week or two.

Ha. I posted three times with images, and nothing happened. I got it figured out now.
It's slow going. My workshop is at my parents house, and I work long days. My build day was interrupted by watching Thor.
I gave up on the CnC set up, and decided to roll the dice with the jig saw. I am glad I did. The cut came out nice, and it took a lot less time than to figure out how to use the CnC machine. I made a couple of mistakes. I built the control panel, and then cut the rest of the width to the exact measurement of the monitor. So I will have to make some adjustments to my control panel. I also purchased two eight button controllers, but cut the panel with 6 buttons. I don't really see a need to make it an 8 button setup, and will decide later what do to with the extra 4 buttons.

I had the electronics working, once I assembled it into my cabinet, the monitor will not display a screen. I know everything still works, since the monitor works on my computer, using the same cable I used with the Pi. At the moment, everything is just laying in the cabinet, since I don't have it completely finished yet.

Heh, it's actually been in the same shape during the last year. My bartop is just a bit too narrow for 2 players, and I have been thinking about just buying from gameroomsolutions or something to build with.
I have tinkered with the oDroid Xu4, and the Pie 3.
