hello everyone I've just downloaded the coin-ops arcade and it looks brilliant but it maybe me being thick but there's loads of games artwork and menus showing but no ROMs so they don't work when I click on them same with the bigger coinops next download but there is some roms included with that but there's loads of games listed with artwork but no roms to make it play the arcade and arcade classics menu there's artwork and a a video preview of the game to the left but when I click on a game nothing plays and when I look in my collections folder for that menu there's no ROMs in there to make to make itiit work is this correct or am I doing something wrong. Like the cps pack there's no ROMs in the download pack ?
Thanks
basically where i thought the roms was stored it was in a different place so i found where they was and obviously the download does include all the roms – i.e me being a bit thick… lol
so anyway ive sorted myself why my games would not play, the problem was when i selected a game it would get a black screen and would not play and return to the menu.
what i did to solve this was i downloaded the add on pack—- CoinOps NEXT MAME – MadMan— after i copied this pack to my root folder of coinops all the games started to work so obviously theres something in this pack that sorts this problem out , and what i can say is that coinops is brillant…..
arcade punks keep up the good work
thanks

When I click on any game I get a black screen then goes back to the menu. I downloaded the Dreamcast pack add on and that plays fine, am I right in thinking the game ROMs are located in -Â mycollections / click on a system then they are in a folder called ROMs or are they located somewhere else.
Any help greatfully appreciated .

I have this same problem with CoinOps Arcade 6. I can start up CoinOps just fine and then when I select a game to play, the screen goes black and then returns to the game menu again. It’s like CoinOps isn’t finding the rom to play it. I went into the emulators folder directly to see if I could get Mame to run directly from that folder and could not. There are three versions of Mame in there, Mame, Mame64 and MameNew64. None of them will start directly from the emulators folder. I know there are a bunch of roms in the emulators/mame/Roms folder and I even tried downloading my own roms to see if that was the problem, but it was not. I think the guy above had the same problem but I don’t understand how he fixed it? I know where the roms are, but CoinOps isn’t finding them for some reason. Anyway, I am trying to get my pc set up before my game cabinet is ready and I love the CoinOps look. It just doesn’t work! Strangely, Dragon’s Lair works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
