his issue is usually caused by 3 things happening on your Windows system:
DirectX 9 is not installed (DirectX 10 or higher might not be compatible)
Proper C++ Runtime files not installed (“Fixes if not working”) folder in Coinops build
Too many C++ Runtime files installed at the same time causing conflicts.
If you have followed the CoinOPS “fixes when not working” folder and installed all the files there, and you still have issues with booting Mame, or GameCube games, or any game, then the 3rd scenario is most likely.
Step 1 – Go to Control Panel, then uninstall programs list, then choose and uninstall all of the Visual Studio C++ Runtime Libraries on the list. EVERY SINGLE ONE ON THE LIST.
Step 2 – Go back into the CoinOps folder and install JUST the following C++ Runtime Libraries:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86)
Step 3 – Make sure the DirectX 9 files are installed.
Step 4 – Launch CoinOps and every game should now launch correctly without fading to black then going back to game wheel.
If it still doesn’t work, reinstall the graphics card driver.
