Hi all.

Could do with some help. I have my Raspberry Pi SD card and controllers. I've installed NZBget and would like to download the Megadrive games to run on this. I've downloaded a torrent file? not sure… from this website but nothing happens on NZBget? What do I need to do to download the file?

Thanks!

"NZBGet is a binary downloader, which downloads files from Usenet based on information given in nzb-files." (https://github.com/nzbget/nzbget)
"The qBittorrent project aims to provide an open-source software alternative to µTorrent." (https://www.qbittorrent.org)

You would benefit from Torrent downloading software, like QBitTorrent. (https://www.qbittorrent.org)  I found the torrent process to be painfully slow.  Usenet is ridiculously faster (600Kbps vs 160Mbps).  It is up to you though.

If your internet provider does not provide a newsgroup (Usenet) service, you could always go with an alternative like Frugal Usenet (http://www.frugalusenet.com).  Frugal Usenet is super cheap, super fast (no speed caps), no download caps (no data limit).

Anyhow, good luck.

Hi,

Speed / time not an issue for me so I've downloaded (https://www.qbittorrent.org)

How would I open the file within this software as its not showing as supported?

So if it is the ".img" file, you will need to use a utility to write the image to your sd card/drive.

It would be easiest if you followed this:

https://www.arcadepunks.com/kn…..mg-sd-card

As for time, I spent a day downloading via Torrent and barely had 2% of the file.  At the rate I was getting, it would take about 60 days to get it.  I switched to Usenet and downloaded the 120Gb nzb file in about an hour.  Keep in mind, I have a 1Gbps connection.

Some torrents are better seeded than others, newer torrents are seeded for a couple of months by us, but it seems when we switch off , all the leechers are exposed and hardly anyone is seeding ?
