Hello! I am a former military cop, fed, and currently a private investigator.
I just built my standing cabinet from gameroomsolutions.com and swear by them. (Although I need to re-install the monitor to sit correctly, since I was the only one setting it up.)
I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with a 200G card. I have two joysticks, two light guns, a spinner, and a trackball. I am still trying to set up the controls and map everything.
First things first though: I am trying to get a romset like MAME .193 for all the classic games I remember, but I don't know what MAME emulator to use in Retropie for it (if I can). I am very new to this, and will be needing assistance. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hey
To be fair there are many pre loaded images available out there to lock in and load up , Id take a look at some of the recent ones, especially the 128gb images, then you could always add to them with your 200gb availability ?
Have a read of this interesting article reference MAME on the Pi …
Good luck , and please do keep us posted on your build ?

Thank you!
I just ordered a 400GB MicroSD card, and will be starting with "Régalad & WDG âSuPrEmE BuiLd V2" Pi image.
I am currently downloading the MAME .193 complete romset to throw into Arcade, but don't know what emulator to use to run it off of in Retropie. MAME 2003-Plus? Lr-MAME 2016? ADVMAME1.4/3? I am hoping to get the American Laser Games on there as well, and see the MAME .193 have them in the game list. Any suggestions?
Here are some pictures of the build:
