I'm Mike, and I live in Washington DC.
About 17 years ago, I built my first arcade machine – a cocktail table that originally ran on a mac laptop, then a mini-itx, and then a mac mini system. I had some brief internet fame for it when I posted the third revision of it in 2007 – the cabinet was called Vectornomicon. You can still find it, if you google it.
I still have it, but sadly, it's died of old age (fear not, eventually, I will restore it), and my kid uses it as a drawing table now. I'm building a new machine, a bartop – I've made a raspberry pi, and I'm using Retro-Pi as the front end, but I'm looking to make it something…more. I'd like to run some kind of Hyperspin system with options for Pinball. And I'd like to add a USB Drive to use as a jukebox… I haven't done this in awhile, so that's why I joined this forum.
I've also made a simple cockpit flight simulator that I used to play Wings over Vietnam with – it's in my basement, but has been replaced by a VR headset. (based on this:Â ).
(Okay, I know you're curious – why the username Phartzog? Well, I used to work with a guy named Paul Hartzog, and thanks to our company's email naming policy, his was Phartzog@…. And I've always thought that would make a terrific name for a b-movie killer robot, so there you go…)
