Arcade Punk

Hi everyone, im a student that just started to go deeper into the arcade world and wanted to go straight to the thing-building my own emulated arcade cabinet.
From just the youtube videos I learned a lot but there are still some things that are blurry.
Came across this forum from which i see active community that can hopefully help me clear things out.
To mention, i would like to make it run on pc instead of raspberry pi (maybe it is harder way i dont really know but i want easy accessibility and im better on pc anyways).
From what i already know theese are needed: buttons and joysticks, pc to run it, screen(crt preferably for classic look) and coin door(still not sure) not to mention things like cables and power distribution
The cabinet wouldn’t be a problem since i plan to make one myself. For pc i hope something like this will work. Buttons and joysticks will be ordered.
Now the screen is something i hoped to get help here. Lcd is an option and most of my worries would be gone but, since i want to use old crt tv i wonder how hard it is to make it work with newer pc with different games since i heard scaling games from diffrient eras is problematic to display them as original.
For software i want to stick with mame because of avalibility of roms and frontend support. Please recommend something that looks nice just for amusement. The way i imagined it to work is to have a menu of games to play, when you select a game it loads it and brings you to the title(the one with demo playing behind it and flashing insert coin text), then insert a coin and play along
Is it hard to implement a coin door to make game start just from it?
I hope that someone can help make my project come true and makes my life much easier.
