Hey Arcade Punks,

I owned a game console mod shop from 2003-2011. Started with Xbox TSOP flashes from my house, then it got so crazy I moved into an actual shop and operated under the guise of computer repair. Although I did do some PC repair, I was in a bad neighborhood and didn't want to get robbed. Eventually started doing hardmods and softmods for all consoles and handhelds available at that time. And as a natural course, also offered repair services for DVD lasers, RROD, YLOD, and botched soldering and mod jobs. Eventually, busts and nation wide raids sweeped through San Diego and I was pretty much the only choice left standing. Goes to show if you don't do or talk about anything illegal, a store front mod shop could survive and thrive.

Eventually retried from the scene as business dwindled and the golden age of modding faded into history. The evolution and influence the mod scene had on today's modern consoles, emulation, and computer media playing options is undeniable. What lit the fire to get your system modified in the past is now part of the standard game console experience.

For the O.G. Xbox I collected and maintained an optimal ROM load that I would place on all of the Xbox originals I modded free of charge. It was a combination of self-curated ROMS and BAED. Eventually, CoinOPs (thanks to BritneysPAIRs), Xmugen, B.O.R., StepManiaX, KI, MK Classic, and some homebrew games became part of the load. The enthusiasm and hard work put into the emulators and builds made everyone's lives so much easier.

Fast forward to today, and what you guys are doing with the ROM packs, PSX classic, and RetroPie images are very much appreciated. It's also important work that has to be done in order to preserve the past and ensure we don't lose all of this history and fun so future generations can enjoy them.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you.

The now will be retro soon enough. I herd A Tribe Called Quest playing in a up food market.

I am so greatfull to Original Xbox modders. They did not release it in my country and I would have to refer to it as Xbox One. Fate has a way of sorting everything out. A price I will greatfully pay. Blood Wake fed my inner vampire even though it was hard ass funk. The mod chip allowed me to fpt it to my pc and load a save game for deathmatches.

I am drooling over the fact I may get an original xbox fully loaded but from what I have learnt from time is. EVERYTHING ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE, IT IS NOT US THAT CHANGES BUT TIME.

Funniest thing was, I walked into a store and said do you have a copy of Windows. The dude turned into a puffer fish. Now I like danger. Looked for 5 safe minutes and there was no legit copy of Windows. Ordered it online because finally Windows has different types of glass (hdr). Which means cross platform compatibility.

The collective work together and it feeds. Skill works for the collective and life supperseeds.

Thanks to modders I got to kung fu fighters with a buddy that is fulfilling his dream in information science, with a drop dead beautiful gal.

What I am trying to say, is thank you, None shall pass (otogi).
