Greetings programs!
There was a recent request for an overlay in MyRetrozz Atari 8-Bit Mini… unfortunately that ‘mini’ is using Altirra vs. Retroarch or other emulator that supports overlays..
Time passed.. I thought about the problem.. pondered.. mused.. then the most obvious answer came to me:
Write a program that will show an overlay on top!
In atypical MyRetrozz style.. making a singular usage program is never quite right.. so I’ve created for everyone… MyRetrozz Overlay!
What does it do?
It will show an overlay on top of all windows… as required for the aforementioned use case.
However.. it also:
1) Automatically scales the picture to ANY screen size
2) Load any picture via command line
3) Configurable via .ini file including picture file to load, and ‘exit’ key (default is Ctrl-Q)
4) Run via icon or commandline
5) Comprehensive documentation 🙂
6) Small self contained executable.. run from anywhere
7) Probably a million other uses? Show pictures of spaceships.. or whatever on your desktop?
8) Be the envy of your friends, colleagues. ‘Hey how did you get those cool spaceships on your desktop?’ (it could happen)
9) It’s completely free.
