Audio fine in emulationstation but nothing when rom starts. 3.5mm output

Tried a couple 64gb 3b+ roms like Steel 64 Gig and No Fill 64gb. In emulation station background music plays though 3.5mm, once rom starts it says ending background music loads rom and there is no sound, for any emulator. Tried setting sound to 3.5mm in retropie but nothing. Again, work in emulation station, but not in any of the roms through 3.5mm jack
