How to update retropie to 4.6 on Nostalgia 128gb image

Hi,

I'm new to the pi 4 and here.

I love the nostalgia  image but having a pi 4 I wondered if I would be able to update Retropie to 4.6?

I went through the Retropie gui to update and selected update all installed packages. It took around 12 hours, including compiling but it shows as 4.5.1, which I think is the original version. How would I check the version to confirm if it updated? And if I have not updated correctly what is the correct method?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also made that mistake, it does not update, just installs the same version, you must update
the updater scrip first, but it does not update…

Please anyone can help how to update the retroarch or the retropie in this images withouth messing them up.
