Hi, I am new to the form and Retropie. Iâm trying to burn and image to my 128 sdcard. Â I downloaded 3 separate images mads, we are dirty and the space one. Â I have been at this for a week now and Iâm not have any luck. I read multiple things online and canât figure out what I am doing wrong. The process below was done on 3 separate cards. Iâll go through what I have done up to date. First I format the card to fat32 and it verifies that it is fat32 with Linux diskessentials. So then weather I use either windisk32 or etcher it creates two partitions a boot on and then the main one. So when itâs all done writing I put it in the raspberry and nothing blank screen I let it sit for a few min nothing. So I wanted to see what was on the card I loaded up the Linux disc essentials again and it shows the two partitions the boot one is 57meg and the other shows blank nothing, the weird thing is that both changed their format the little is now fat16 and the big one us exfat32.???? That what I donât understand. So I thought maybe a corrupt image and I got another on and another one and these all happen. It doesnât matter with etcher or windisk32. So then I went over a friends house and borrowed his card and it works as soon as I put it in. So I created an image with windisk32 and burned that one same thing that one is only a 64. Someone please help me before I go insane…..

extracted them into one image file
formatted card to fat32
wrote image to card
inserted card into pi
turned on pi
and nothing?
i just want to make sure you werent missing anything.
two things come to mind, possibility number one, bad/fake cards
were these cards purchased from a store, or from online, like amazon? reason i ask is there are A LOT of fake cards floating around on the web, that appear to be larger than they really are, and even allow you to attempt to write the images but just dont have the room, and therefore will not work.
number 2 either the image (s) werent complete, or corrupted, ive personally downloaded files to extract them and they were missing bits, i dont recall which extractor gave the most info, but i was using 7zip and winrar both i "believe" winrar gave the error messages and identified the part that was corrupt. that way i could redownload just that part instead of the entire image again.

Offline Thanks for the reply, well Iâm using 3 different cards 1 was from Best Buy, 1 from Amazon ship and sold by amazon just checked and the their was from target. They are SanDisk and Samsungâs. Yes I can see 1 card being the case or 1 image. Iâm downloading via torrent on straight image no unpacking, Â click image and flash. I downloaded my 4th last nite so I will see how it works.
I donât know what Iâm missing.
The one image I did get bad init, it stopped half way through the boot

Offline Thanks I will keep you posted. This one doesnât seem right. It was finished last night but taking forever to flash. Itâs over 15 hours now. Unless the others were corrupt
i just want the madlittlepixel for a Samsung 128. Thatâs all lol.
I what is the best card to use, and that would go with a image with AttractMode. Iâll Dow Laos another and start over if I canât get this. Is there any way of telling the image is corrup? Â It all three??

Offline Ok, nothing on the 4th. I ordered a new card today. Â When I put the card in nothing happens, how long should I let it sit for? Â I let it sit for about an hour, figuring itâs doing something. There is red and green lights on the pi. Â I know itâs not the card because the original 64gig card still works…
if someone can post a attract mode  that no one has reported any issues with I will download that one and try.  Or the best one for a Samsung card that will fit. Why not what do I have to lose.
maybe I picked 4 bad ones?
Could I possibly have all bad cards. Â What I do is use partition magic, erase all allocations then set allocations then format it to fat32, shows about 124.99 gig.
i tried sdformatter that folks talk about but I donât have the option for fat32 only exfat.
after I burn flash the image to the card I go into partition magic and I see the 57 meg partition and then the big one and it shows like 4.99 gig unalocatedfree.
what the heck am I doing wrong,…..Iâm thinking the cards.

Offline are you using PC or MAc?
on PC i insert the card,
i locate the card in win explorer, right click, and select format, i do not use any additional software to do this.
then i write the card which depending on the file and your machine can take a while, ive not seen a 15 hour write personally though unles the speed of your card is bad,
what "class" card(s) are you using? just curious.

Offline Hi, Iâm using a class 10 series 3 100mb/sec Samsung Evo.
Iâm not sure now Iâm confused. I thought these cards need to be formatted fat32. Windows formats 128gig as exfat. I thought that the wrong format. Â I did have a little progress I get error but at least itâs something. And it has that exfat32 error. I try and attach.
So what is the image I should download?  Iâm trying mlp again  the top two on the page nothing happens.

Offline I canât upload the pic but is says EXT-4 fs error. A whole bunch of times. Â Thatâs from the virtual man image the second one down on the page.

Offline Any ideas would help, what is the attract mode image that is reccomend the madlittle pixel is 119.2 and it says something like there is not enough space that the 512 sectors DOES than data what would you like to do?

If i see right, that is that last and current Image from MLP (December 4, 2017 ), the Image File has 113GB and it works so far at me.
But i boot it from an SSD ;), i have not test it on a SD Card…

i need some help with two issues though.
Im not sure if this is the right place to post, in Dreamcast Iâm using a Xbox wireless controller. The middle silver button exits out of the game. How do I remap that to select? Â Iâm just looking down the road for when I build a bar top. Iâm going to experiment on a piece of wood with a kit for 1 joystick. Every other system I use start and select to escape but Dreamcast uses that button. What can I do to match it up to start and select? Â Even the start button in the push down on the pad. Can I re map that one too to start?
