Hi all,

Downloaded MLP's PSX2MLP 128gb image. Installed on brand new, formatted 128gb sd card. Getting this error when booting up VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (179,2)

To clarify, used SD Card Formatter, Win32DiskImager per instructions. Im a bit of a noob, just trying to make a PSX system for the kids.

Sounds like a corrupted card or not written properly, you might have to re-write the card, also what brand card
My PC with cheap card writer has problems writing to large cards, but the Laptop with built in Card Reader/Writer does it without problem

is your sd card formatted to fat32 file system? sd card formatter formats large sd cards to exFat file system

after formatting with sd card formatter to make sure there is only one partition on the card, format it again with

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co……format.htm

to fat32 file system and then burn image to the card with win32diskimager or etcher

Tried reformatting from exFAT to fat32, and burned again with win32diskimager. Still have the same error. I'm using silicon power elite brand, class 10. It may just be the card though. Ordered a sandisk 128gb. We'll see how it turns out on this one. Thanks for replies!

Just got around to it the other day. Sandisk did the trick, works perfectly! I guess I shouldn't skimp when it comes to SD cards. Thanks, Jaz and balthier!!
