There are many 128gb images etc like the Ultimate Amiga Collection by Ransom. I was wondering if you could unpack these images to separate folders on a ssd connected via usb and run each collection separately. Bear in mind I have no experience with Rapberry Pi’s so I’m sorry if this is a stupid question. I just thought a ssd would be more reliable than a micro sd card

cheers

Rattyjunk,

If I am reading your question correctly, I download images that have a specific systems and romsets I want to add to the image I am currently running, I enter the image through WinSCP and drag and drop the system/roms to my computer, then move those files over to the image I am using in my Pi. There's probably a program you can download to open the image on your CPU, then move the files out.

As for the SSD, I had a 4tb connected to a pi, took for-freaking-ever to load, but was worth it, it was massive. Here's a vid for the SSD section of your post:

Thank you for the information it’s very helpful.

I guess I really needed to find out how the Raspberry Pi worked before asking more in-depth questions. Is it c0rrect that these images include the OS as well as the emulation app. If I’m wanting to connect a ssd and boot from it for emulation purposes it seems what you are saying is that with your setup you can unpack the images and drag specific systems to your setup?

I guess lots of reading is in order, hopefully I’ll find some guides. Oh also what hardware do you recommend eg ssd, adapters etc

One last question… Some of the images work on Raspberry Pi 3 b but not on B+ why is this?

cheers again you have been very helpful
