Heres a clue (the very first paragraph of the post)

Quite recently (last week!) Wolfanoz released an awesome 128gb Motion Blue v6 Image with the Comic Crazy Theme on top of Emulation Station, one of the FIRST MBv6 fully loaded images we had seen, then ONE DAY LATER the Pi 3B+ was released, and everyone found out that images would not just straight up load, because the New Pi required Raspbian Stretch, which is also backward compatible with standard 3B Pi. So Wolfanoz wiped his brow and re-made his image, to play on the new 3B+ (and its predecessors). He also took the opportunity to have a quick change-about and add EVEN MORE roms to the image…

Is it April Fools day or something, More games in the new img Was 13,741 Now 13,400+,  WHAT ?, (+  must mean more than 341)

ROMS have gone from 13,147 to 14,000+

So just to clarify, Wolfanoz released an image for the current Pi at the time (which was the 3B) it was an awesome image, HOWEVER, The 3B+ was then released (I believe a day AFTER he released his image) , the 3B+ could not (and can not) play older images, because it runs a different type of operating system, so Wolfanoz re-wrote his release to play on the 3B+.

Now it also turns out, that the NEW O/S for Pi can be used on the 3B , too , but the old O/S can not be used on newer ones, so images with "stretch" – (the name of the new O/S for Pi) are BACKWARDS compatible, however, "Jessie" images (the old O/S, the ones we've been sharing for years..) are NOT future proof.
