@crazymick – did you ever get it figured out? I'm finding that I have to first go to emulation station, go into a system and launch a game (any game) and controllers work, then when I switch back to attract mode they work. Not sure if the same issue or not.
That said… I can't get it to work at all for MAME, can't get the setup screen to appear using TAB on the keyboard either. :S
