I was thinking, since I'm trying to use my own stick might it have something to do with how I've set up the buttons? As in, is there a CORRECT way to wire up a Zero Delay board? I set it up with quite short cables and so I ran port 1 as select, port 2 as start and then skipped 3-6 and wired up my 6 buttons on 7-12.
I'm just curious if the MLP build is hard wired a certain way, because no matter what I do in Emulation Station, as soon as I launch a ROM the buttons change to something else. The top middle button (which I think is in port 8 on the Zero Delay) suddenly becomes coin op, which would be mapped to select. And the Select/Start buttons become normal attack buttons (in Street Fighter, I'm a sucker for Street Fighter so I've been using it as a test game – I have tested others to confirm the same button config issues remain)
