Hello, finally got it! Thanks a lot. I didn’t have the log file because I had already wiped the hard drive.
Turned off the AV and marked the folder as exclusion.
I was using “The unarchiver” app on mac to extrat the files to the hard drive, because the mac is faster. But that app wasn’t extracting the files ok. Had to use another, “Betterzip” app, with a trial version of command line RAR for mac 
it worked!
All good now and its amazing!
