Hey guys, I had gotten a image from here before for a rPi build a few months ago, but now i got an Amazon Fire HD 8 and i am working on loading it up with games and emulators. Im just about finished with the console games im going to play, but i would like to get some arcade games in there. Since its a tablet, it would be pretty easy to play games in tate mode, so i wanted to get some old school stuff and some more modern 2d shooters. What would you guys recomend for a mame rom set and emulator? i would like to do something that would already be compatible with a retroarch core, but i dont mind trying other stuff. The Fire HD 8 is no more powerful than the current models of raspberry pis.
I dont know much about mame. I know that the numbers mean things and some work better on certain devices. but im not yet versed on all the background stuff. I usually keep to console emulation, but since i want to enjoy games in 3:4 and other taller aspect ratios, i know arcade emulation would be the better option.

Thanks for the resource, but i was looking more for a specific mame or fb alpha rom set and the recomended core. I decided to try the FBA 0.2.97.42 rom set and ill try them out in the FBA cores on retroarch. i found the recommendation in a reddit thread. seems to include a few consoles i was going to throw onto the sd card anyway.
