wasn't sure where to put this question, so i will try here.  Why are the split mame files only hosted on newsgroups?  I don't really care that much…this is more of a curiosity question.

my guess is because some torrent apps fuck up with torrents with lots of files in them. that's why pleaseuredome recommends certain ones to dl from them.
