Hey All,
I am planning on modding a Arcade1Up Golden Axe (4 player) cabinet to run a Raspberry Pi IV using ETAPrime’s instructions, but I could use some help and don’t know where is the right place to post my request.
I have a list of 670 games I want to put on the Raspberry Pi, but I need some help making sure all the games in my build list meet my criteria for the cabinet I am modding.
Most games will need to just use a single joystick and up to 3 buttons. But I should be able to support 1, 2, 3, and 4 player games (4 player like TMNT, Simpsons, or X-Men). Or with 4 joysticks, I can support 2 joystick games like Robotron, Battlezone, or Smash TV.
I think my build list has most of the good games, and I think I have cut out most of the driving, spinner, trackball, 4, 5, or 6 button games, but I could really use extra eyes to make sure:
1. I haven’t missed any great games that are either 1 joystick and 3 buttons up to 4 players or 2 joysticks per player up to 2 players.
2. Do any of the games in my list use more than 3 buttons? or use controls other than a joystick and 3 buttons.
3. Have some crappy games somehow slipped into my list – are there games that other Arcade Punks really think are crap and just wasting menu and hardrive space?
4. I’m going to be using a Raspberry Pi IV. Are there any games that other Arcade Punks know will run too slow on a Raspberry Pi IV, so that even if it is a good game, and fits my control specs, I should probably drop it. In other words, games that are too new or require too much CPU power for a Raspberry Pi IV.
Looking forward to finding out where I should post this, and then I’ll follow up with an official request and my list of games.
Thanks for the help!
