Hello folks. I just got the build and unpacked but when I go to used BalenaEtcher to mount the image onto a 256gb micro sd card, it won’t let me write to the card because it is too small for the image. By how much? 1mb lol. Is there something I am not doing right? I’ve done this many times in the past with no issues. I know it said in the description that this is meant for a USB stick, but should work on a micro sd card. If this is for the Steam Deck, should have no problem creating this on a micro sd card.

Its worth noting this may not fit on your 256gb microsd card, so you may need a bigger one or USB, you can then expand the image to use ALL the space (to add games) as shown in this youtube short.

Just to confirm – image is too large for Samsung EVO 256GB so had to write it to a 512GB instead. It works well so far but frustratingly slightly too large for the average 256GB; if anyone does have success then please name the card (we will probably need to do this for the 1TB image too !)
on the 1tb steam deck build its confirmed working on certain sd card:-
….this has been tested with original 1tb Sandisk MicroSD Cards and works, anything else hasn’t been tested….
