I have manage to place my hands on a old laptop, swapped the HD for an SSD and have been playing around with retropie, ES & retroarch using Ubuntu as the OS and the piggie game packs.
I have got it working to a playable fashion but not enough for me to rip the guts out of the laptop and call it a retro gaming device. Are there any front ends available that will install to Ubuntu/Linux based OS or are there any free OS that are compatible with the available images? I'm unfortunately running out of time and patience with configuring retroarch etc when there maybe a bright spark out there somewhere who has already done the hard for me.

I'd love something like this too. Windows runs like junk on my quad core Pc's so I use linux for them would love to turn one into a gaming system but all the PC front ends are for Windows which i don't understand since all the Pi are Linux boxes I guess I'll try one of the Pi Images and see if i can run that off a thumb drive or something.April 25, 2020 at 1:41 pm #113733kme2019Member
