Keymaster@ninjaSo has promised when I introduced myself, there is my current project
At first it was to build a Guncab but my twisted brain got me further
The Project is to build a cabinet for screen and systems and to couple with movable panels to optimize space and “stock” more easy
First a module for 2 players 6 buttons and space vacancy for lightguns (Aimtrack or Dolphin Bar yet to choose)
Second a Hard DDR panel with a PS2 Hackpad or a control card zero delay regarding to the cheap price nowaday
Third : 2DoF sim with a G27 wheel
Fourth : Homemade Pop'n'Music Panel
To plug modules to screen cab it'll be DB25 plugs for supergun and a Usb Hub for PC and PS3
Systems inside :
– Supergun with SEGA ST-V
– PC with VGA to Scart card for Model2/3 and other Emu for driving sims and Lightgun games
– PS3 with Gti Club and OutRun2
The screen will be a 33″ Sony Trinitron (A 40″ LCD can fit if necessary)
This was the Projet, but this week I jumped in !
Start with the bottom, purpose was to be able to move the cab but not to allways check moves so 2 homemade feets on front
Then you reinforce a side
[
Repeat for next side
Checking vacancy inside for the door before putting TV stand, time to put stands for a board for Supergun and power supply
Test with a smaller Trinitron (28″) and to check if the plan was right for the topper emplacement.
Creating toppers and cutting “triangles” so the cabinet won't look like a wardrobe. Putting hinges for backdoor as well
Next moves :
Put Metal kick guard to lock front door as weel
Put light in the topper
Prepare supergun cables and attach Female DB25 on front left
Find infos on “magnifing screens” like the Super Megalo (prices and above all if there is problems with lightgun with this kind of screens)
Create a Bezel that fit with the screen
Finally decide which color to paint or if going on a vinyl
But I think next move would more be building the first “movable panel” with sticks and buttons to check if everything was worth the work ^^

Long time without using soldering iron but finally this is quite clean ^^

Project will be paused for a couple of days, my wife will abduct me for the next few days… grrrr…. NOOO HOOONEYYY I JUST WANT TO CONTINUE !!!!!
