Dewathsmiles 2 Working dump closes on startup help.

I am unable to config controllers or use the Loader or game.bat these all start show DOS window then instantly close.

Only way I can get it running is clicking on the cvgame.exe but I still have no control to play that since the ds 2_Config also crashes opens Dos box then immediately closes.

I use a AMD Athlon 6 core, 16gb of memory and a Radeon RX480 4gb version. All drivers are latest. Win updates are up to date as well.
I’d really like to get this working has anyone had this issue and resolved it?
