how to exit out of a game???

depends on how you set it up, if you downloaded an already built image, its likely pressing coin and start at the same time.

Select + Start on most image is exit.

Or if you have set up the keys yourself, I dont actually know, I recently got asked to set up the HOT KEY on an install, and couldnt press start and select at the same time to set it up, so Im quite confused, would love to know how to SET start and select as hot keys …

To set the hotkeys, you enter retroarch ( by default it is select/coin + B ) or byaccessing in the retro pie menu

 

this enters you into retroarch, where you will select input, then input hotkey binds, this section will allow you to map any of your buttons to the “hotkey”

as well as map any of the buttons pressed WITH the hotkey, to perform many different things, from save/load states, filters, cheats etc etc etc.

edit:  you MUST select save on exit for it to save,
