@ninjaA few people complaining that they cant get controllers to work in games on the new Mad Little Pixels 16gb V4 Retro Classics Image ….
Heres a working fix provided by Isaac Ventura
Here is the fix controls for the recent img v4 that MLP uploaded and a lot of you have problems configuring it. this is from another image that MLP uploaded it works for me. connect the pc and pi in the same network.
Retropie and type the user “Pi” and pass “raspberry” open Configs folders, open the “all” folder paste and replace. enjoycanter6

@crazymickI tried the fix and it didn't fix my issue. Â I have crawled all over the Internets and I can't figure out why there are controller issues on so many of these sets. Â Is there some “standard list” of things to try to resolve these issues?
I have cleared the controls in setup, deleted the controller config files, rebooted the PI, readded the controllwers and the controls in the emulators will just not work.  I have to go into the config menu with the core loaded and tell it to “bind all defaults” and most of the time that works but not always.
Granted I am very new to this and most definitely learning the ins and outs of both linux and the emulators but I was hoping to find a definitive guide to fixing these issues.

@throbinson@crazymick – did you ever get it figured out? I'm finding that I have to first go to emulation station, go into a system and launch a game (any game) and controllers work, then when I switch back to attract mode they work. Not sure if the same issue or not.
That said… I can't get it to work at all for MAME, can't get the setup screen to appear using TAB on the keyboard either. :S

I never did get them to work correctly. I have quite the list of things to try to make them work but none of them work. I just gave up on this image and moved on.
@throbinsonThat's a shame… I had Nacho's image a while back, had issues, 0 support.
Grabbed an image because working on an xmas gift for my niece, had hoped it would save time because I never figured out a few things building my own image, but finding the same level of help with this MLP image as I did with Nacho's… zilch. ?
Ah well, have a few things to try when I get the time this week. Really, the main thing for me was NES and SNES anyways for her. The rest was just a bonus.
