Newer PC games, and how they work on Hyperspin.

Hi Guys,

I have been watching a few videos on Arcade machines and Hyperspin. I have been playing with ROMS for years now. I see that Extreme Arcade is selling systems that have hyperspin on them. I believe this is frowned upon. Regardless, in watching the vid, I can see in the wheel they have a newer games, such as injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat XL as an example. Now, Extreme Arcade does updates, people send them their drive, and it comes back with updated games, with stuff like this on there. So that being said, there is no way these games are steams games, I checked GOG and they are not listed there either. So are there ROMS out there somewhere for these games? Or are they stand alone games that when launched the first time they install themselves? Getting the older ROMS going are no problem, I just wanted to understand how the newer stuff works. If these are stand alone, is there a name for these type of games? I really appreciate the info. Not asking for links or anything, just an understanding of what they are and how it works.

So in my personal opinion, and not that of AP, I believe some people dont have the time to sit down and reconfigure drives and collections and purchasing ready made drives is a good option from them from a reputable seller - however - those that have the time should build their own.... Personally most countries this will also be breaking the law selling of the ROMs etc...

So I cant speak for "Extreme Arcades" nor any of the reputable ones such as Arcade Systems but it will either be a "warez" game whereby it doesn't need installing, or will be an installer game which you will need to run an installer for at some point in order for it to work, most of them do and try to use "portable" versions (non-installing) of the games - but some modern ones this is not entirely possible. So in essence, YES, there may be times you will need to install some elements in order for the game to run properly and direct off your HS Wheel.

Thank you, I figured it is frowned upon. Understandable, Not promoting or seeking it. Just wanting to understand the concept of modern games being prepped on a drive before you add it. This was the best example.
