TAB button not working

Hi all,

Some for  reason the button on  my bartop that I programmed to be my TAB key doesnt work.  I then hit the TAB button on my keyboard and it too does not work.

Which file do i need to edit to get my TAB button on my keyboard to work?

ive experienced this before, but only in certain scenarios, im not 100% on this, but it “appears” to be when i choose an emulator that isnt correct for the game im playing, i.e advmame vrs advmame1.4 or whatnot, on some roms the game will load, but not be responsive, then i select another emulator and everything works fine.

this may not be your case, but its something to try,

I dont think my post was clear.  I apologize.

I went into the attract mode interface (by hitting the TAB button on keyboard) to configure a button on my bartop to act as the “TAB” key .  I assigned it the the button that I wanted and for some reason it didnt work.  I think tried to go back and fix it but I cant get to the attract mode settings since I need the TAB key to work.  The tab key on my keyboard or the button that I assigned it doesn't bring up this menu.

I think i might have found the file:

/home/pi/.attract/attract.cfg



This is the file I think i need to edit to get my keyboard TAB button back working again. I'll try when i get home.

No, i ended up reinstalling the system.
