Hey guys!
I'm trying to set up SimpleTouch on a Surface Pro 4, running Windows 10 Enterprise.
I have no idea what I'm doing. I've downloaded a few touchscreen games from this site, but cannot get them to work. If I try as a stand alone exe file I can't add credit to them, even using IND:E Platform Emulator. If I try and load them into SimpleTouch FE they just simply do nothing (the icons don't even load into the SimpleTouch game selection screen)
Has anyone got a link to a good tutorial on how to use these files please?

Hi there,
starting with the ones you have got running as standalones, have you tried the itbox or inde emulators? Either one of these normally adds credits to the games, not many actually use the IND:E Platform Emulator, and some also use itboxserv. Look at Aladdins list on here, https://www.arcadepunks.com/gameslist/, as it shows what goes with what. I would get as many running separately as possible, remembering what emulator goes with each game before using simple touch, putting the working ones into a separate folder. You use the FEconfig program in SimpleTouch first, and if you got all your working games in one folder you can add them all at once. Put the menu pics from each game in the snapshots folder, and name them exactly the same as the game itself and they will show up (Click the add image at the bottom to add). You can tell ST which emulator to use with each game, so it runs them for you. There is a test button, so you can test whether it will work without leaving the config section. If you get them running in FEconfig and the image snaps are in the bottom corner you should be good to go.

Thanks Davep180! I've started to make some progress with getting the games to work. And also getting games accepted onto Simple Touch as well!

Its a long process, both myself and Aladdin were going to release a complete pack up to date of simply touch pre configured plus all the games
(pack was coming as with games and without , so you simply remove from the menu games you dont got or want) …
Its just real-life stuff gets in the way ? Really hoping to start a guide soon, I know some of the other punks have , like me, got brand new touchscreens sat in boxes waiting ?

Hi, I'm fairly new to this, but have a touchscreen laptop which i would love to get running as a pub quiz machine. Did this pack by @Ninja ever get completed? If so, please could someone let me know where it is?
Also, I'm pretty confused about this whole emulator / front end thing. I'm downloading HyperSpin at the moment. No idea if that's right.
Any advice, or links to guides would be really helpful. I've watched a few vids on youtube and quite confused.

Hi Andy,
the pack you have mentioned hasn't been released yet, but will probably be the easiest way into this scene if you are a complete noob! The pub touchscreen games you remember are (mostly) still available on this website, any of the complete packs with itbox, paragon or inde will have lots of files to use. Each game usually requires a credit emulator to be run beforehand, Aladdins list tells you which credit emulator to run with each game, and which os it will run on. Basically, run the exe in a game folder after running the correct credit emulator, you'll be playing individual games in no time! (You will probably have to put some files into your system folder too, get the dll pack and runtime pack from the touchscreen section here).
Simple Touch frontend is the go to front end for touchscreen as it can be configured to show the games like the pub machines used to, and can be configured to run credit emulators or game specific parameters at the same time.
Any problems mate, I'll try and help, i'm on here quite often.
Cheers,
Dave

@davep180 is totally correct – I never did release a pack because Aladdin himself worked on one – its actually out there floating around in BETA test stages , estimate Arcade Punks will be doing a special on it within the next couple of weeks once any bugs found (if any and very unlikely) are ironed out ?

Hi guys,
I'm slowly (but surely) getting there. My programs are starting to run, which is great – thanks for all the support so far. One issue i'm having though is with SimpleTouch images / attracts. I keep getting an error to say the pins aren't connected. I'm using version 1.15, I have named the file the same as the game name. Any ideas what's going wrong?

Hi Andy,
glad you are getting there with the games now. I haven't ever had your pins error, and I'm not sure what version i'm using off the top of my head, but I have a couple of related questions for you. When you click the space in the bottom right of the frontend config screen (the add image section), can you add the snapshots ok from file? Do the snaps then show up in the box? Technically I think the snaps can be called anything, as long as you are pointing to the correct file. Are they in png format? Also, I know people often have problems if they run too many intro videos on the same page at the same time!
Keep us posted.

Hello, im new here. Just wanted to say that i've been busy setting up an arcade machine with touchscreen. Im running Win10 x64 and all the games i downloaded from this site are running just fine, i havent seen a game yet that refused to run. I have a fresh copy of Win7 x64 just in case but it looks like i'm not going to need it lol.
Installed Simple Touch 1.16 2019 edition, linked the games and it runs so smooth on a core i5-2400, 8GB, touchscreen, and 240GB ssd. Still finetuning some bits here and there but im happy as i could be. Thanks a lot guys ?
