I have tried (and failed) to get touch screen games in MAME working. Touchmaster, MegaTouch, Video Poker etc…
Someone on another forum suggested running Mame in a window. Did not help.  What am I doing wrong?
I have an Acer "All in One" PC that I am trying to run it on.
HELP!!

Offline seems like not one person running mame touchscreen ?
When you say "not working" what do you define as not working ?
is the games loading ?
are they the relevant roms to the mame version?
have you set the controller up as touchscreen? (press tab in mame)
supply a bit more info, and im sure some people will be able to assist ?

It isn't you. I love the touchscreen stuff myself. I looked into this and basically Mame will run the games and will play with a mouse and crosshairs, but touch emulation isn't there yet. I had some Players Edge video poker and slots running a few years back. As i remember, you had to set up an emulated note acceptor first. This saved something to nvram and then the games worked.
I would love to see Megatouch fully working here at ArcadePunks! Anyone?

I know some of the guys are looking into it , but it doesnt look like anything solid till winter/christmas, watch this space kinda thing ?

Offline I hope so…. I just got the Touchmaster games for the Nintendo DS, and it so much better to play on a touchscreen than moving a mouse around in mame.

Offline CURIOUS – Has anyone tried the MAME games through RetroArch and seen if touchscreen works , Retroarch has -some- touchscreen support… #letmeknow

If anyone is interested, I have made some advances on the megatouch front. In Mame config, If you enable the lightgun option, touch emulation works fine, then in TAB (whilst game is running) you can remove the crosshairs. I've tested on megatouch 5 and 6 and it works for them. Basically, the mouse emulates the lightgun and the touchscreen then emulates the mouse.

Yes lightgun enabled works on some versions for me, I also unplug my mouse before booting up mame so touchsceen is the only "mouse" mame sees, also make sure you are in full screen mode. But many games still have issues. Hope this helped.
