Games: 30,000~
Media Files: Yes (titlecovers + game description)
Games Files Format: .chd / .m3u / .zip / .iso / .bin
Multi-Disc-Games: yes (.m3u files – multidisc games are in the “multi” subdirectory)
ROM Directory: Atari, Commodore, Odysee, Nes, Snes, Genesis, Saturn, Playstation, Dreamcast, Gameboy/Color, Wonderswan, N64, Game Gear, MS-DOS, Amiga/CD, and many more consoles!~
Emulator: Batocera/RetroArch
Format: RAR
Hoster: Torrent
Size: 175 gig rar, total 238 gig (250 gig microSD will work)
I spent a few weeks on this, meticulously going through and finding the best games for Playstation and other systems. Testing as many games as I possibly could to make sure only the ones that worked stayed on. This was tested with a Raspberry Pi 4 gig. Was made using Batocera. If a game doesn’t work, or there is a game you want, just connect over SSH (I recommend Filezilla and copy what you want there)

**Tips: If you plug the microSD into your pc after burning the image. There is a config file where you can change some parameters. If your HDMI gives you trouble unplug and replug (or change the HDMI port on the Raspberry PI), or try changing some of the parameters in the config file when you plug it into your pc. Time is set to EST, you change that in the config for example : America/New_York
Google questions with Batocera for any help configuring it to more of your liking. Includes KODI and some space still on the microSD for music/movies.
If connected to SSH make sure to use a complex password and not default.

Hey guys,
I downloaded this from the members server. It was a single rar file. Unpacked it and all seemed well, the image file turned out 238 GB (256,355,860,480 bytes). I burned it to a 256GB Sandisk Ultra micro SD.
Put it in my Pi 4 (4GB) and it only has like 6 systems and 20 games on it. Looks completely different to the video he provided as well. Not sure what is going on. Any thoughts? Anyone successfully playing this image downloaded from our members server?
Thanks, Joel

This won’t fit on my 256 GB Samsung sd card. just a wee bit too big for the sd card.

How to you update the romsets? A pop up appears in Naomi saying “mame romsets out of date” Thanks
You can ignore that message. But if you want to update the romset, you can just download FILE zilla FTP and connect to the raspberry pi and copy over a different rom set. I wasn’t planning to add MAME games to this release, so that was just a quick setup I did, I am still fairly new to understanding MAME roms/emulators.

I just burnt it to a separate 256 GB samsung SD card and it works. Try using the new updated raspberry pi imaager, or balenaetcher

Can you try burning the image with the latest updated Raspberry pi imager https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/ and let me know your results.

My next release will be on v30 Batocera linux, I’ll work on making the file size slightly smaller, probably just remove the Naomi, and add the super nintendo hacks, etc. Give me sometime to work on the next version 😀 Ill also test it on my 8 gig pi to see if it will work.
Also the official game count is
29,793
My seed box will be seeding this file 24/7 right now I see it at 12 MB/s
If you have the current Retro Pirate Box you can upgrade using the BETA feature:

I tried the pi imager. Nada. It says I need 256.4 GB of space. I’m using a 400GB card for now, I ordered the exact card you have it will be here tomorrow and I’ll try again.

Sweet, can’t wait. Any way you could add some arcade games (MAME) down the road?

I think there are already some good releases that focus on MAME releases. I feel MAME takes up a lot of space, so the build would have to be MAME focused since most of the MAME sets are 200 gigs themselves. I’ll look into it though and see what looks interesting to make.

@hipp0
I am no stranger to all this as I used to be on VirtualMan’s team. I will be flashing your image on a 2TB HDD as I have NesPi 4 case which will leave me with tons of free space to add my own stuff, I was just wondering, if I have my own set of ROMs like the full set of 1711 PSX ROMs and want to add to this, only thing is it hasn’t been scraped it only has ROMs, how could I reliably scrape it n make it work with your image ?
Great work keep it up 😉

you will be able to drop any roms you want into the folders shouldnt be an issue. Then you can select folders to scrape so you dont overwrite or scrape. I did 2D box art, so for example if you scrapped all the consoles again that would take a long time and probably fail because you can only scrape about 10,000 images per day.
But to answer your question it would be very easy to add roms and scrape.
just SSH / your ip / user root / password linux (or use advanced password if its set) filezilla works well and reconnects and can skip files so it doesnt overwrite.
I do have an external SSD and I have a Pi 8gig with a internal hd using the Argon V2 case, but I havent tried flashing it to the main HARDRIVE. that will be a test for the future. I was unsuccesful with other images, so I just focused on the SD card, but ideally for better performance I would like to use this setup: https://tdbt.io/products/tdbt-superc-pcie-nvme-m2-to-usbc-aluminum-ssd-external-enclosure-usb-3-1-type-c-10gbps-for-macbook-pro-pc-android psc=1

I will test this in the next release, I didnt test this with my xbox or switch controller, I just tested it with a usb controller.
