Total: 6330
OBSERVATIONS:
-The image won’t work with the RPI4, so don’t download because you will waste time.(I will release a RPI4 image soon)
-My system is a RPi3B, with a 64gb class 10 sdcard and will work with RPi 3B+
– The mkarcade driver is disabled.
-The Nintendo DS emulator needs a keyboard for controller configuration. Since the DS is just for 1 person, you can configure both controllers to 1 player, if is that the case.
-The OpenBor emulator also needs a keyboard to first configure the controllers.
– The system is very heavy, some stuttering may happen.
– Ocasional crashes are expected, because AttractMode is heavy and resource hungry. Just reboot.
– Some layouts are very heavy SWF, so a slowdown will be noticiable in some themes.
-Is recommended a cooling method (large heatsinks or fans) to the temp get around 55-60 Celsius and a good power source.
– The image was conceived for 64GB card, almost ready to use, but can be used in any sdcard and be increased to higher storage and add new games and arts.
– I recommend to add roms through WinSCP, because RPi3B has many WIFI drops . https://winscp.net/eng/download.php
– To create or modify Hyperspin themes, use Hypertheme, thats part of the Hyperspin installation pack: https://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/17585-hyperspin-151-full-package/
– To download the arts, I recommend the torrent from the Hyperpie Project: https://files.hyperpie.appboxes.co/HyperPie-v2-Media_Pi_Version.torrent, but you can download also from emumovies and hyperspin.fe
– The image was compressed with 7zip (https://www.7-zip.org/download.html) and Winrar
FIRST USE:
- A) BURNING THE IMAGE
– Download the image and burn to the sdcard. I use Win32DiskImager: https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
– Place the sdcard in your RPi, connect a keyboard, the HDMI and then the power source to load the system.
– You will need a keyboard connected to the RPi until configure the controller.
- B) CONFIGURING THE WIFI
– Once you configure the controller go to Attract Mode menu. There go to Wifi configuration and configure the Wifi.
- C) EXPANDING THE SYSTEM TO USE THE WHOLE SDCARD
– Go to Attract Mode Setup> Raspberry Pi > Advanced Settings > Expand Filsystem
- D) CONFIGURING CONTROLLERS
– Go to bluetooth if you want to set bluetooth controllers.
– If you will use GPIO controllers, enable mkarcade driver. Just go to Attract Mode Setup> Retropie> drivers and install the mkarcade driver.
– Then, go either Emulation Station or Reset Controllers to set the in game controllers. The reset controllers option will erase any pre-set emulator/game configuration.
- E) CONFIGURING THE CONTROLLER TO USE IN THE MENU
– When the system loads press TAB. Will show a black screen written Configure> Controls. This will open a control configuration tab for THE ATTRACTMODE MENU, this will not work in games.
- F) Changin the aspect ratio of games
– If you want change the Aspect Ratio to 4:3 or 16:9 of your games you have to go to > Atrratc Mode > Configuration editor

Do I need to unzip all the files. I just got the image and not sure what next. I see 61 files. And thank you for all that you do
Thats one big file with the extension .img . The file is compressed and split in several little files. You must go to the first one and, using winrar or 7zip extract the file. the extraction will take several minutes. Then you burn the big .img file in your sdcard

I’m trying to download the Arts torrent but not having any luck. I disabled my anti virus and web security but still no luck. Any ideas?
You can download the image packs from https://hyperspin-fe.com/ and videos from emumovies.com . The original torrent file link is offline, luckily i had a copy, here is the link: https://mega.nz/file/Dwd1xYLI#HVkFA4GGbvPRr9EwAS02x7zWbU1khBXUzU9B4I4tyTs

For those who updated the kernel and are having sound issues, and sound problems with attractmode, here is a solution:
The solution has 2 steps:
The first one is well described in this link: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/26628/audio-issues-after-latest-raspbian-updates-june-2020 and affects emulationstation and retroarch
The solution is, in update your RetroPie-Setup installation.
-use the Audio menu in RetroPie to choose your Audio output (HDMI/Headphones).
-This will set the default Sound card/device for your system, but wouldn’t always solve the problem of missing audio in EmulationStation.
-update the EmulationStation core package – you should have at least version v2.9.2.
-Re-configure your Sound in EmulationStation, depending on how your sound output is configured.
– Edit cmdline.txt and add to /boot/cmdline.txt:
snd_bcm2835.enable_hdmi=1 snd_bcm2835.enable_headphones=1 snd_bcm2835.enable_compat_alsa=1
The second part of the solution is correct the sound issue that affect attractmode especifically:
You must type:
sudo touch ~/.alsoftrc
sudo nano ~/.alsoftrc
then paste this, save, exit:
[alsa]
mmap = false
then:
sudo cp ~/.alsoftrc /etc/openal/alsoft.conf
sudo reboot

They should work. Try this: Enable Launch Display (see how on this video https://mega.nz/folder/e48i3RwY#00RvT3okKd5SZLVNMFvTKA ) and try different emulators with the rom. Normally mame2010 is the one that works, change for the individual game.

I’m trying out this build on my full-sized gaming cabinet (there’s a certain humorous irony in having a massively heavy cabinet with an old style CRT and just a raspberry pi inside of it). At first glance, it is gorgeous. Nice job. I have a bunch of configuring to do so the games will display properly on the screen (Simpsons was SO zoomed in, I didn’t know what I was looking at), but I am hopeful I will get it working to bring out the full glory of the build.

Favorites.
How do I create a favorites Display that works without issue. I’ve tried using the included tool as well as creating my own filters, but nothing works as well as some other versions of Attract Mode.
I’m new to this so any detailed steps, however simple would be appreciated. All around its a great build though!

The easiest way is to delete the games through the network. Open windows explorer in a computer in the same network as the pi and type \
etropie (or the rpi ip i.e. \\192.168.1.15) . If everything is correct it will open some folders. Go to roms, and delete the files directly from the folders, they will not appear anymore in the carrousel.

Thank you Sergio for this cool ISO
I’ve successfully downloaded and installed on my rpi3 but I have some questions for you about controllers
actually I have attached an usb mouse and keyboard to the rpi3.
what are the default commands to browse its contents and operate on the different menu?
what are the default commands to play games on different emulators? I have tried many games but I was stuck not able to do anything because I don’t know which buttons on my keyboard does what and I don’t know how to see the actual set or change it.
thanks
regards

I must say that i love this img/setupi’m porting it to my Ubuntu 20.04 x64 system
i have all the system from the img file up and running 😉
and i have added
Daphne
American Laser Games
Actionmax
I’d like to think of myself as having above average computer skill but my knowledge is based on a lifetime of MS DOS and Windows starting with 95. I’ve been trying to do exactly this with 2 old PC’s and I even had Peppermint on one which was incompatible with RetroPie. I tried the same 20.04 distro of Ubuntu with no success, I tried putting this image direct to a hard drive multiple different ways, I tried burning to a thumb drive and installing. No matter what I do I get stuck on “verifying DMI Pool Data”. I have now installed the Raspberry Pie Desktop OS and have it working quiet well but I just for the life of me am at a complete loss for how to get this setup going. Am I missing the simplest way of just drag and dropping the libraries into my main directory and merging them with my current working OS ?
I don’t need it spelled out but just a finger pointing in the right direction would be super helpful.
I purchased a license for launch box while it was on sale however the specs on these PC’s is less than stellar and with a minimum of Win 7, but realistically Win 8 I just don’t want to lug the processors down any further with a hungry OS I’d rather have it available towards the front end and emulation. I’m only looking to emulate certain older games for a few more dedicated retro setups and am just trying to do it with perfectly fine albeit older hardware I have laying around vs dropping $500 on a slightly better than bare bones new PC.
The main system in question is running an AMD Sempron 3600+ 2.0ghz processor single core with 1gig DDR2 Ram and a 128gig SSD, if this is a lost cause I’m also willing to accept that but the specs seem to be at least on par or slightly better with the main difference being this is a single core vs a quad core.

Let me see if we are in the same page. This image is exclusively for RPi 3 and will not work in any other plataform (like RPi4, PC, Mac). If you are trying to use this image in any other device than rpi3 the image will not work. If you have an RPi3 and have issues, there are two possibilities: 1) the image you downloaded is corrupted, so you will need to download again; 2) your sd card is fake, so even if the sd card shows the correct size, maybe is a fake size. The image will burn correctly, but will not boot. If you want something similar in a pc, try this tutorial (is a little bit outdated, but should work): https://www.arcadepunks.com/arcade-punks-arcade-building-modding-and-gaming-forum/retropie-on-pc-es-and-am/tutorial-hyperspin-in-a-linux-machine-with-ubunturetropieattract-modepcca-layout/
