Bandit got in touch with recently to share his amazing Hyperspin Android (Nvidia Shield TV) build where you can add your own roms, he has provided some great install guides and how to copy the roms over for you, and asked we give it a share on our site, because, quite frankly, we believe, this is well worth grabbing for your Shield TV install.

QUICK INSTALL GUIDE

ADDING GAMES/ROMS

This pack is PURELY the base files necessary to launch Hyperspin from Shield, nothing more. It is not made to be installed on the computer at all. I removed several items that were superfluous to the overall build so its just a lean file with the games, emulators, media, setting.ini and trimmed database.
Some of you may be wondering, why is XYZ system not in here! I dont see XYZ game, what gives?! This is not meant to be an all inclusive list of every game available. I have given you a clean slate of games to add onto, and the XML files are trimmed so you can sync with hypersync and not download extra art and media you dont need. Let me know in the comments what systems and games you guys are going to add to the list!
Atari Lynx – 14 games
MAME – 81 games
Nintendo Entertainment System – 44 games
Super Nintendo Entertainment System – 61 games
Nintendo 64 – 30 games
Nintendo Game Boy Advance – 61 games
Sega Dreamcast – 14 games
Sega Genesis – 50 games
Sony Playstation – 40 games
Sony PSP – 23 games
Install Instructions:
Extract the 7z to the base of any storage medium connected to your Shield.
There should now be a Hyperspin folder at the root.
Install all the Emulators inside the emulator folder EXCEPT for Play! (Ps2 emulator I forgot to remove)
Configure each emulator.
Go into retroarch and download the HANDY Atari Lynx core.
Download Dreamcast BIOS (dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin) and place them somewhere on the drive inside a folder called “data”. For exaple mine is SYSTEMROOT:dc/data
Open Reicast and point to the folder BELOW the data folder. so mine is pointing to the “dc” folder.
Once the emulators are set up, thats it! Pop open HyperSpin and enjoy!
Adding games to the build:
If you want to add games to the system, all you need to do is get the correct filename from hyperlist XML. Just google Hyperspin Hyperlist and you will find that.
Add the entry for the game to the DATABASE XML file for the correct system, and then point hypersync to the hyperspin folder on your shield. makes sure the download directory for hypersync is the {shield path}/hyperspin/media/ and thats it.
If hypersync doesnt have the media files you have to do it manually. If that is the case you merely copy the name of the rom from the XML and paste your custom media into the corresponding MEDIA folders for the system with that exact name as the rom file
(if the name of the game rom is “GAMETITLE (USA)” all my files would be called “GAMETITLE (USA).jpg” “GAMETITLE (USA).mp4” etc… placed into the correct image and video folders)
