With the recent release of the Official HyperPie PC Edition Examu and Taito Type X ADD ON pack Mr RedRom himself has sent us a very good compatible pack for ExaMu, those few great games (only a few games!).
You may need to configure your controller on a per game basis on this (once) as this uses the PCLauncher functions within the PC Edition RocketLauncher All work with xbox controllers, Might need to go into each game folder and run type config.exe to set controls if it doesn’t work for your controller
