We were getting bombarded with request for Steam Deck Builds since the release of the awesome CoinOps Legends 3 Steam Deck release but to no avail no-one was sharing them with us, so we went all out and attempted a group buy (for a 256gb image and a 1tb image) – within a day someone got in touch and explained that Dereks Pixeltorium was happy to share a 256gb image (better than the one we were going to group purchase!) – Heres his video on his awesome build….
EDIT: It seems the original author was unaware of the person who got in touch, we have now spoke to him (creator) and everything is cool, Mr Pixeltorium is a lovely guy (and you can see in his work, hes very talented!) – some of his friends have shared some other builds with us to share with you too (not Steam Deck) – so we look forward to them!

Steam Deck Batocera Build – 256gb Running Off USB Drive.With the awesome work of the Batocera team, and having an base IMG of Batocera for the Steam Deck, I put together a 256gb IMG of several systems I like to play, and on a USB flash drive that doesn’t affect or change what you already have going on with your SteamOS. Thanks to all that have made this possible!
As you can see mentioned this is a USB flash drive version, but should be just the same from MicroSD Card, burn to your USB/SD using your favourite .img burning software, plugin your stick/card and With the Steam Deck off, hold the volume down button, then press the power button. Continue to hold the volume down button until the Steam Deck boot screen appears. This will launch Steam’s Boot Manager. Then choose your boot device (i.e. USB/SD).
Its worth noting this may not fit on your 256gb microsd card, so you may need a bigger one or USB, you can then expand the image to use ALL the space (to add games) as shown in this youtube short.
This is running on the awesome Arcade Planet Batocera Theme from EvilDindon, which I’m sure you can agree is truly stunning on the Steam Deck!
