We just had a decent set of re-encoded Pi system snaps shared with us and with that we get a fantastic VERSION 2 theme set for HP2. The HyperPie Expanded guys bring you this awesome set. Grab them now and get updating.
If you already have HyperPie 2 themes installed delete the old HP2 layouts in attract/layouts and replace them with the ones in the file. Don’t copy over existing themes as that will leave a lot of unwanted stuff like views that have been renamed or deleted!
Paste in the layout configs from “PUT THIS IN ATTRACT.CFG FOR X” over your current layout options at the bottom of your attract/attract.cfg. (backup the file before doing this!)
The themes have been optimized for performance on Pi if you use the Pi settings. You can turn animations and stuff in the layout options if you are missing something you had enabled on V1.
The zip includes some menu-art optimized for Pi (JPG instead of PNG) that you dont need if you already have HPPC2. If you have a Pi you can go ahead and replace the contents in the menu-art/flyer and menu-art/fade-in with the media in the zip for better performance.
If you use Motion Blue v6 you can still use the HyperPie 2 theme.
You set the hp2-main-menu layout to the “displays menu”, hp2-sub-menu to all sub menus, hp2-arcade-menu to all arcade systems that don’t have cart art and finally hp2-systems-menu to everything else. Read the startup tutorial carefully and don’t forget to set a button to “Toggle layout” to switch between the different views.
MBv6 does not include game descriptions. You can get them with the MB6 DESCRIPTIONS FILE DOWNLOAD Drop all the folders into the romlist folder.
The right side art in the arcade and systems theme is set to flyer and you are meant to have 2d flat box art there or arcade flyers from progretto . This can be changed to box art or cart art if you want in the display options.
You can set your screen ratio to either 16:9 or 4:3 in the display options for each theme and you can also select between PC or RPi for better timed animations depending on what hardware you run on.
Disable the plugin resfix if you have that enabled on your Pi.
