Motion Blue Unified – aka – Motion Blue 7 from David Marti – The Ultimate Front End For Your Raspberry Pi.

David Marti is back from his semi-retirement, and promises “this is it”, unfortunately for him and luckily for us, DM has said this multiple times, although he has stressed “this is really, REALLY, it” – Only time will tell! If its true then hes leaving us all with an awesome retirement present, the 7th installment of Motion Blue, named, Motion Blue Unified (because of the ported theme from Big Box, called Unified). This is a real deal breaker, and if this is it from David Marti, then this is probably a good time to start getting your final Raspberry Pi Images done and dusted – I mean, can we seriously get any better than this!

As well as your standard Retropie Emulation Station, David Marti has also ported the theme to Retropie AttractMode, (as seen in the video below),  and created somethings you have yet to see with Retropie :-

and also with Motion Blue Unifieds implementation of OPENBor – it has it setup to direct launch *.pak files (without any middle-man launcher needed). Just drop the *.pak files into the /roms/openbor folder .. and away you go!

WHAT ABOUT THE ROMS?

As with any Motion Blue Release, there are NO ROMS INCLUDED, but releasing an early version to The PiPiggies enabled them to produce a high quality ROMSET you can download (torrent or nzb) – simply add the ROMs to the build and watch the systems appear (most ROM Packs contain artwork/snaps) – Only Playstation and Sega Dreamcast releases are MEDIA ONLY – meaning you will have to source your own ROMS (easy enough if you have a look around this site!) – although us personally here at Arcade Punks are not fans of Dreamcast (nor N64) on the Pi, but hey , there are a few good titles that seem to work, but its down to you what you choose.

As of this time the PiPiggies ROM sets are available via torrent or NZB, simply load up the torrent and select which ROMs you want – and HEY, Don’t be a Dick, seed them for a while to help others !! – As for Usenetters (NZB) simply download the NZBs you want for the sets you want – no need to share – they are on Usenet to leech !! – Previous versions of Motion Blue ROM sets will be compatible with this as would any No-Intro/Hyperspin named ROM sets , #ROMSAREROMS , You may find if you have ripped the ROMS from an existing image that they too, will just work…
