DMC got in touch with another perfect image, this time an ‘upgrade’ to the SNES image released by MLP – In the video below we quickly check out the systems involved in this and below words from DMC himself about the image…
Additions from MadLittlePixels SNESv2 base image:The following have been added;-Famicom-Famicom Disk System-Super Famicom-Launch/run command splash screens added to all systems, along with bezels/overlays (also pre-installed are the launch screens and bezels/overlays for Game Boy and Virtual Boy)-Image is still cross compatible and usable with Pi Zero / 2 / 3-Motionblue/Hyperspin ready roms added for Famicom, Famicom Disk System, NES, Super Famicom, and Super Nintendo (Wanting to keep this image kid friendly, I removed circa 30 adult content games from the Famicom Disk System)-All systems scraped with the UXML scraper – any roms which did not scrape were moved to \roms\roms_which_wont_scrape\system_name\ so are still available should anyone wish to add them back in. Artwork and video snaps can be found under \roms\system_name\downloaded_images\ System gamelist.xml can be found under \roms\system_name\gamelist.xmlCollections added for the Famicom, NES, Super Famicom and Super Nintendo Classics/Minis with the appropriate titles added to each collection.Music folder relocated to \roms\music for easeSince a lot of people are using Rons base image with the Retroflag NesPi case, I went ahead and pre-installed the James White power switch hack along with his fan control mod. These are disabled by default but can be enabled by editing rc.local and un-commenting (delete the hash) the required line.Power switch hack option A – reset button exits the game back to emulation station menuPower switch hack option B – reset button shuts down and restarts the PiOn both options the power button will shut the Pi down before killing power.Only one of the two options should be enabled.Fan control mod – will govern the speed of the fan(s) determined via the temperature of the CPU – again, un-comment to enable itES graceful shutdown script to ensure game metadata is always saved is also installed but is disabled by default (see this link for notes on this script https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/12895/ensuring- es-gracefully-finish-and-save- metadata-in-every-system- shutdown) note that this will cause the system to take longer to shut down as the system will wait for this script to finish running before powering off To enable, run the following command from putty;sudo systemctl enable killesFull credit to MLP for the base image, I just added a few things to it. – DMC
