Pi4 New Firmware Keeps it Cooler! - How to Install Firmware Raspberry Pi 4

In this video, I show you how to install the new USB3 Host Firmware on the Raspberry Pi 4 and in turn this should drop temps on the Pi 4 1Gb 2GB 4GB model by 3c – 5c because it saves about 300mW and helps the Pi4 to run cooler.
this will work on the Pi 4 1GB Pi 4 2GB or The Raspberry Pi 4 4GB version.

Download and extract the Firmware Zip
1. cd Downloads
2. unzip vl805_update_0137a8.zip

Install the new Firmware
1. chmod a+x vl805
2. sudo ./vl805 -w vl805_fw_0137a8.bin
3. sudo reboot

For testing, you can run these commands in terminal

Real Time “1sec” CPU Clock Speed:watch -n1 vcgencmd measure_clock arm
Real Time “1sec” CPU TEMP: 2

Go Back to the included firmware
1.sudo ./vl805 -w vl805_fw_013701.bin
2.sudo reboot
