Back in November 2017 The PiPiggies released a SOLID PC Pack – “Renegade” – Its one of the MOST HIT UP downloads on the site, and why shouldn’t it be, it JUST WORKS! The setup is quick and easy, the game play is a case of plugging in an XBOX 360 Controller and your ready AND NOW NEW FOR 2019 The guys have re-upped this absolute beauty but THIS TIME YOU DECIDE what you want on there – This means if you DONT want to add PSX Roms the whole thing is under 500gb, but you PICK AND CHOOSE the roms you wanna download – EASY! There is even an easy guide in one of the videos below showing how to run the system and collections from the main menus.

Its worth noting that MOST OF YOUR STANDARD NAMING ROMSETS WILL WORK ON THIS – So those roms you ripped from your last Pi image, should work, those Motion Blue Unified Roms you downloaded, should work, just drop and drag those bad boys into the base pack download…

This download assumes you are storing on an external HDD, which you’ll need to change to H:\ (this is something you MUST do in order for it work!).  HERES HOW TO DO IT .

THIS IS FOR THE PC NOT PI

Romsets for various arcade, console, handheld systems (most are 100% or close to it), Emulators – RetroArch emulator for use with Attract Mode/Emulation Station and a stand alone Kodi build.  Attract Mode – fully configured and ready to be used (see below),  RocketLauncher – middle man launcher application between Attract Mode and emulators, Emulation Station – fully configured and ready to be used (see below).

Roms/fba (FBA 02.97.39 only)
Roms/mame-libretro (mame2003 roms only)

These two folders are NOT full sets. These two folders only contain a slimmed down selected set of roms. The included Emulation Station gamelist.xml files within these two folders only contain the information for the roms within their respective folders.

Install additional required software
Located in the Utilities folder, if the PC you are using doesn’t have a required component, they can be installed using the appropriate installer. DirectX, visual C Runtime files, etc…..

SETUP (PART 1)

One of the prerequisites for using this is RocketLauncher requires a font to be installed.

This is an easy task on a Windows PC.

Follow these instructions to install the BebasNeue font.

1. use Windows Explorer to navigate to the following folder

H:\Utilities

2. install font

Double click on the font file

BebasNeue.ttf

Follow prompts to install the BebasNeue font.

SETUP (PART 2)

RetroArch Emulator (PC)

Since only RetroArch is currently setup, you must bind your controllers manually by launching RetroArch and doing it within the program itself. NOTE – XBOX 360 CONTROLLER ALREADY PRE-CONFIGURED – ANY OTHER CONTROLLERS YOU WILL NEED TO SET UP!

This installation of Attract Mode/Emulation Station uses the “Roms” folder location for the rom files and associated media.

There are several included themes to chose from as well and can be changed from with the Emulation Station GUI.

By default, Emulation Station only has a keyboard configured for GUI use. You will need to configure your gamepad/controller within Emulation Station. Press the <enter> key and use the arrow keys to scroll down to Configure Input. Press the A key and then follow the prompts.

By default, Attract Mode has a keyboard and a game-pad configured for GUI use. If you wish to remap the button assignments, press the TAB key and scroll to the CONTROLS menu to re-assign different settings for keyboard or game-pad buttons.

REMOVING SYSTEMS / COLLECTIONS

By default Attract Mode shows all the systems, even without the ROMS, Emulation Station will only show systems with ROMS,  its very easy to remove systems and collections from Attract Mode, in the video below NINJA UK (One of our Arcade Punks) shows you how.

NOTE – This is purely a repack and re-up of the original download – No files have been ran or altered, no files have been edited, updated or upgraded since the initial release, this is a repack of the master, NOT, of an installed version – Basically means – you can update it if you wish once you have it installed!
