The Light Gun Lunatics strike again! All Guns Blazing is a heavily customised Batocera v43 build created by the Light Gun Lunatics alongside Team Pixel Nostalgia. Built specifically for light gun fans, this enormous release brings together close to 420 games from multiple systems in one bootable image.

The compressed image is around 400GB and has been designed to fit, just about, onto a 512GB SSD (minimum), microSD card or external drive. It supports compatible PCs and the Steam Deck, making it a serious all-in-one collection for anyone looking to build a dedicated light gun system.

What Is All Guns Blazing?

All Guns Blazing is a community-created Batocera build focused almost entirely on light gun gaming. It combines a huge collection of compatible titles with custom artwork, themes, scripts, configurations, music and system-specific improvements.

The release has been curated to reduce the amount of setup normally required when configuring multiple light guns across different emulators and arcade platforms.

Although many games and systems should work straight away, users should remember that light gun support can depend heavily on the PC, display, light gun hardware and resolution being used.

Expanded Multi-Gun Support

Recommended Resolution

The recommended resolution for All Guns Blazing is 1920 x 1080.

Running the build at 1080p provides the best overall balance of performance, accuracy, calibration and compatibility. Changing the screen resolution, display scaling or aspect ratio may affect light gun calibration.

Users should complete their initial setup and calibration at 1080p before attempting to use other resolutions.

Do I Need a Controller or Keyboard?

Yes. Batocera is designed primarily around controller navigation, so keeping a compatible controller connected is strongly recommended.

Storage Requirements

The completed image fully uses the available space on a 512GB SanDisk Extreme microSD card.

A  512GB drive should therefore be treated as the minimum recommended storage size. Larger SSDs, microSD cards and external drives can also be used.

When installing the image onto a larger drive, the additional space may not become available automatically. You can expand the storage partition using software such as:

• GParted
• DiskGenius
• Another compatible partition management tool

Make a full backup before changing or resizing any partitions.

How to Write the Image

The image can be written to a compatible SSD, microSD card or USB drive using software such as:

• Balena Etcher
• Win32 Disk Imager

Select the downloaded image, choose the correct destination drive and begin the flashing process.

Double-check the destination drive before writing the image. Flashing the wrong drive will overwrite its existing contents.

After flashing, Windows may report that the drive contains errors or that certain partitions need to be formatted. This is normal because Windows cannot read all of the Linux partitions used by Batocera.

Do not format the drive. Safely eject it, reconnect it if required, and boot directly into Batocera.

Can the Build Be Modified?

Yes, but any modifications are made entirely at your own risk.

Always create a backup before changing emulator settings, updating Batocera, replacing themes or modifying system files.

Updates and manual changes may overwrite:

• Themes
• Scripts
• Music
• Controller configurations
• Light gun configurations
• Community-created enhancements

If the build is working correctly, avoid making unnecessary changes unless you understand how to restore the system.

Can All Guns Blazing Be Sold?

Sellers should not package the image with computers, drives, light gun systems or arcade cabinets and charge customers for the software.
