How to fix (RecalBox)
- download https://www.recalbox.com/download/stable/allimages/(Recalbox 9.0-Pulstar – Raspberry Pi 4 / 400 (64 bits)
- Use Pi Imager and flash on Device B
- Insert Device A in PC and empty all files. Copy all files from Device A to B.
- Boot Pi with Device A.
- Check settings in recalbox-user-config.txt I had to remove # from #hdmi_safe=1 to fix my black/invalid resolution on my homecinema.
How to fix (Retropie)
- Remove your loaded build from the sd reader and put to one side
- Get ANOTHER SD Card and download Raspberry Pi Imager ( here )
- Using Imager get the latest raspberry Pi OS and write to your spare SD Card
- boot it up in the Pi you are trying to run your image on
- Once booted, shut down the Pi, replace with your loaded build
- It will now boot as the firmware is updated
