They’re back in the muck again. The PiPiggies have oinked out something glorious – a massive 2TB RetroBat 7.1 build designed with retro purists in mind. This one’s tuned specifically for 4:3 displays, be it your crusty old CRT or that square-ish panel collecting dust in the attic. Think legacy screens, not widescreen. It’s nostalgia done right!
No fluff, no weird setups. Drop the RetroBat folder onto any drive you fancy, whack a shortcut to Retrobat.exe on your desktop, and you’re off. Controls are mostly pre-configured, though OpenBor might need a tweak or two (you know the drill). Nearly 11,500 games packed in, everything from the Atari 2600 right up to GameCube and PS2, plus hacks, homebrews, and gorgeous media where it makes sense.
It’s all here, and it’s filthy in the best way.
What’s Inside?
This isn’t your average ROM dump. Systems include:
- Classic Atari: 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx
- Arcade Glory: CPS1/2/3, MAME, Daphne, Atomiswave, Naomi 1 & 2, Cave shooters
- Nintendo Legends: NES, SNES + MSU-1, N64, GameBoy line, Famicom Disk System, Game & Watch, GameCube, VirtualBoy
- Sega Kings: Master System, Mega Drive, Sega CD, 32X, Game Gear, Saturn, Dreamcast
- Sony Love: PSX and PS2
- NeoGeo Madness: AES, CD, Pocket Color
- Weird & Wonderful: Nokia N-Gage, OpenBOR, PC Engine + CD, Vectrex
If it ran on a 4:3 screen, it probably made it in.
Modern Build, Retro Intent
Yes, this will work on a 16:9 screen – but why would you? This build screams arcade cabinet, CRT TV, or that dusty office monitor from the ‘90s. It’s tailored for legacy ratios, with bezels, overlays, and configurations to match.
Get in, Fam. Fire it up. Smell the ozone off that old tube monitor and relive it all.
