The Amiga Demo Scene was (and still is!) HUGE – A “demo” was showing the ability to push the machine (in this case The Amiga) to the absolute maximum quality (and of course for the demoscene “crews” to show off their skills!) – The demoscene is still alive and kicking to this day !! (check out Scene.org and Mod Archive). Here , Cryptkeep3r shares a great CoinOps collection add-on “Amiga Mega Demos”.
Extract into your CoinOps folder, it won’t overwrite anything, Setup to use the PUAE core from the official base build, You need to do one of two things for the pack to be available, either add ‘Amiga Megademo’ to the menu.txt files or make a ‘Amiga Megademo.sub’ and put it into the Amiga folder.
Most multidisk demos will load fine without intervention, however some only work with DF0: so you may have to swap discs, this is done from the Retroarch menu, eject the current disk, load the next one and close the drive. Again if I work out a fix will map these to the control pad.
Going to be testing the 2021 core, if all works good should be able to use the Amiga Bezel and map the disc swapping with a few tweaks, the files are already in the pack.
NOTE: Files are UNALTERED – Arcade Punks do NOT edit or alter any files or images – We may, on occasion Archive them up to save YOUR bandwidth but our extracted files are EXACTLY like the source (its very easy to CRC check) – People may say “DONT DOWNLOAD FROM APUNKS” but there is no real reason other than a bit of scene pettiness – if seeking support in their forums/discord ensure you DO NOT mention that you downloaded FOR FREE, WITHOUT HASSLE from Arcade Punks – it is EXACTLY the same files.
