It is with great sadness that Arcade Punks (us) announces the immediate closure of our esteemed forums. This decision, though not taken lightly, is deemed necessary in our ongoing commitment to maintaining our reputation as the premier destination for retro gaming enthusiasts and home builders. While this news may come as a disappointment to our loyal community, we assure you that we have taken steps to ensure a seamless transition and to continue providing exceptional support and resources.

Brief History

Since our inception, Arcade Punks has been a beacon for enthusiasts seeking to relive the golden era of gaming. What began as a humble idea shared across IRC and various social media platforms has evolved into a thriving community of like-minded individuals. While the original creator is no longer part of the core Arcade Punks team, their contribution to our legacy is undeniable.

Over the years, our team has weathered numerous challenges, including significant reductions in our core team due to family, work, and life commitments. Today, as we stand in 2024, with just two dedicated members, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing quality content and ensuring it costs you nothing. However, the demands of moderating a forum have proven to be increasingly time-consuming, detracting from our primary goal of sharing our passion for retro gaming and releasing the vast amount of content we have accumulated.

The Closure

In light of these considerations, we have made the difficult decision to close our forums. Rest assured, this decision was not made lightly, and we are confident that our enhanced website functionality will more than compensate for the loss of the forums. We remain deeply grateful to our community for their unwavering support and understanding during this transition period.

We simply feel we cannot give the forum the attention it needs and do not want to build up false hopes in people leaving posts or topics open and unmoderated/approved.
