Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for three new GameCube trademarks in Japan related to video gaming (not general merchandising) purposes including video game program and video game machine.
Other new trademark applications include 風花雪月 (related to the upcoming Fire Emblem game), 黄金の国イーラ (related to the upcoming Xenoblade 2 DLC), Sky Skipper (the old arcade game that released on Switch in July), Fitness Boxing (the Imagineer game that will be localised in the west by Nintendo), NES (English word), Nintendo Entertainment System (English word), Game Boy (again English word) and two for Nintendo 3DS. Actual applications can be seen here.

Japanese Nintendo, which seems to just sift through trademark filings, has discovered three brand-new GameCube trademark applications by Nintendo, which as you can see propose that with the types of copyright/trademark applications could lead to a Nintendo Gamecube Mini – all the classics are shrinking and coming back !
Whens it coming? How much will it cost?
Who knows! , it may not even surface yet (but we all know it will!), basing it on the SNES Mini and NES Classic pricing, and the forthcoming N64 Mini and PS1 Mini, we would guess pricing would be in-line with recent ‘mini console’ releases….
Maybe Nintendo are waiting to see how the up and coming Nintendo 64 sells, before making a final decision – but there are some wheels in motion….
Watch this space for more information – as and when we know more!
