Here we check out Touch Music Solutions very own JukeBox (Home Edition) for our Wall Touchscreen Machine build – unlike some of the older Jukeboxes it doesnt work off Artist and Title (although of course these are important aspects!) – it works off Genre, and at first we were unsure, but then realised it truly is the ONLY way to go with these kind of builds…..
We preloaded a handful of albums to give this a little test, and have every intention of loading in a few thousand albums and using this on a regular basis, the one thing that makes this software stick out from the rest is the importance of a GOOD SORTED MP3 COLLECTION – Make sure your tags are in order, especially the GENRE tag, as on the front screen everything is sorted by style of music (you can of course do a search for artist/title!).
Everything about this jukebox is spot on, and really does tick all boxes, its basic, simple to use, has no complications on the front screen and comes complete with an app for your Android phone so you can control the volume, skip tracks and such!
We used some opensource software called MP3 TAG to ensure our tags were up-to-date and in good standing of the genres we wanted, you can see on the above video we mis-tagged something as Pop and pop (capitals! – both show as Pop though!). There are many software option to tag your mp3 including Touch Music Solutions own Easy Music Tagger (free) – The video below shows how easy it is to edit your tags for your albums (Using MP3 Tag).
All in all, We can see us progressing with this Touchscreen Jukebox Software, we are going to trial some more options, but this by far looks like the one for us, such a quick and easy set up, easy to use interface (with no complications, just click and go!), and the whole system being locked off from ‘tinkerers’, with no keyboard plugged in you cannot get to the settings, and you can set it to autoboot full screen, so it really does work from switch on!
